Milestone lights flashing Amber

Amber Phillips will celebrate her 150th game at Undera this weekend.

Undera has a big task ahead on Saturday with a number of reasons to bring its best performance to the table.

The Lions host a Murchison-Toolamba side in fantastic form as Alice Cunningham has her charges firing.

But every game is important for the home side, which sits just a game outside the six as one of four teams desperately vying for a finals spot.

With the second half of the year crucial, Undera will also hope to put in a strong showing for Amber Phillips.

The stalwart defender celebrates her 150th game at the club and will need to be on guard against Murchison-Toolamba’s shooters, which average 52 goals a game this year.

But the Lions are no slouch themselves with an average of 49 goals a match.

After Girgarre secured a stirring win against Lancaster last week, only time will tell if that will spark the Kangaroos for the rest of the season.

Dani Jones was integral last week and will be looking to continue her momentum against Dookie United.

A game against United is a must win for either side to start showing the competition the position they deserve to finish.

Lancaster’s last win came against Rushworth in round five and it might have to wait another week to register four more points.

Taking on powerhouse Tallygaroopna with Bec Humphrey tearing up the court in goals, the Wombats defence will need to be on guard.

Ardmona’s contest against Longwood could quite prove one of the tightest of the round with an opportunity for each side to secure its second win of the season.

The Redlegs were solid scorers against Stanhope last week, which should hold them in good stead, although the Cats also showed strong periods of play against Avenel.

The Swans will be confident of overcoming Violet Town and Nagambie looks set to defeat Merrigum, while Stanhope should not have too many problems against Rushworth.
