Four rounds into under-16 Shepparton District Junior Football League competition and Mooroopna has been thriving.
The Cats are averaging 126 points a game, helped by another big win against Shepparton Swans White at the weekend.
Tom Brown was brilliant, kicking seven of Mooroopna’s 23 goals, but he was not the only multiple goal scorer.
Isaac Dowling (five), Dustin Blake (two) and Oscar Crilly (two) received an abundance of ball in attack, while Kaedyn Napier and Nathan Basile were also in fine form.
Erion Barolli never stopped for the Swans, kicking their sole goal and being effective across the ground.
Forwards came out to play when Tatura took on Moama, with the Bulldogs running out 17-point victors.
Tatura’s Sean McAllister snared four goals and Morrie Serra three which counteracted the dominance of Magpie Callum Parsons who slotted through five goals.
Harry Murdoch, Blake Armstrong and Andrew O’Connell were also influential in the Bulldogs’ win.
Shepparton United’s Sheldon Bogdan also enjoyed five goals to help the Demons cruise past Kyabram.
The Bombers did not score a major until the third term with Zavier Briggs putting on two and Mitchell Fitzgerald was strong for the Bombers.
But the influence of Damien Pigatto and Mitchell Roche kept Shepparton United a step ahead in the 93-34 win.
Jayden Gagliardi was sensational for Shepparton Notre Maroon as it overcame Echuca Bombers 102-38.
Gagliardi sent home three goals to top off his efforts, with Achoung Agog (three goals) and Jayden Dhosi (five goals) also key contributors, while Joseph Guiney was best for Echuca.
Echuca Green took the chocolates against Shepparton Swans Red despite Brody Wild’s and Scout Matthews’ best efforts for Red.
