Seymour senior coach steps down

April 15, 2018

Seymour coach Nick Jewell stood down from his role after a conversation with club president Craig Velt following Saturday's loss to Echuca.

Jewell decided not to relocate from his Mornington Peninsula base and could not commit to traveling to Kings Park three times a week.

Velt said the club was understanding of the coach's position.

"It just got too hard and he made the family decision and that's fair enough, he made life decisions and that's his priority, it's all good as far as we're concerned," he said.

Jewell said he enjoyed his short tenure at Kings Park.

"They're terrific people there, I had fun and if I had have relocated it would have been great to be there for a long time but it's a fair hike from the Mornington Peninsula to Seymour," he said.
