Murray Bushrangers’ youth girls’ side has a great opportunity to remain undefeated in the TAC Cup season today.
The Bushrangers’ perfect regular-season record (after going 5-0 in last year’s inaugural competition) was given its first blemish last week with a draw against Gippsland Power, but the side is still yet to lose a home-and-away clash.
It means the Bushrangers will be confident that stellar record can continue against the Western Jets today at Euroa’s Memorial Oval.
The Jets have not tasted victory this season, but have got within 12 and 15 points of their respective opponents in the past two matches, so could pose a threat if the Bushrangers are not switched on from the first bounce.
In local team news, Shepparton United product Ella Hibble will make her TAC Cup debut, and will look to make an impact off the bench wherever she is needed.
Fellow Demons Charli Boschetti and Kate Adams — along with Euroa’s Sophie Locke — will all miss the under-18 clash though as they receive the opportunity to line up against girls their own age in the under-16 Futures contest set to be played as a curtain-raiser to the older game from noon.
Shepparton Notre’s Amy Duguid (fractured finger) and Northern Angels’ Tali Verhoeven (family holiday) are also unavailable to take on the Jets in the 1.45pm match, meaning the Bushrangers will look for fellow Goulburn Valley exports to do more of the heavy lifting in their place.
Those include Finley’s Eloise Ashley-Cooper and Bears product Grace Egan across half-back and Mooroopna trio Bec Webster, Tamara Smith and Millie Brown rotating through the middle of the ground.
