Maddie Garrick will once again line up for the Melbourne Boomers.
The Shepparton export’s spot on the Boomers’ roster for the 2018-19 WNBL season was confirmed this week.
It will be Garrick’s fourth campaign with the squad, and after the Boomers fell at the final hurdle this season the guard will be looking to help her teammates claim championship glory next year.
‘‘I’m looking forward to returning to the club for my fourth season and building on our growth and successes from last season,’’ she said.
‘‘We are going to be a super competitive and talented squad, and it’s going to be a great opportunity for me to keep growing individually, along with the team collectively.
‘‘I can’t wait to see all the members and fans again, they are such a big part of everything we do.’’
Garrick averaged 10 points, three rebounds, 1.46 assists and one steal a game last season, and Boomers coach Guy Molloy is expecting improvement from his guard to help his side to push for ultimate glory.
‘‘I’m really pleased Maddie is returning. We know she is an outstanding player who, though solid through last season, didn’t hit the heights she herself expected,’’ Molloy said.
‘‘However, she is unbelievably dedicated and has her own points to prove. Therefore, we expect she will be a very dangerous player by the time October rolls around.’’
The Boomers have already compiled a stellar list of players for next season, with Jenna O’Hea, Cayla George, Monique Conti, Kalani Purcell, Steph Talbot, Chelsea D’Angelo, Jaz Shelley and Ash Grant joining Garrick in the ranks, and will be favourites to again be competing in the finals.
