Mooroopna Cats White secured a spot in the Shepparton Junior Tennis Association finals, despite a final round loss to Shepparton Lawn Pink.
White pipped its Mooroopna Cats Blue clubmates for the spot, with Blue two points shy of a fourth place finish.
While Mooroopna Cats White was defeated 3-29 to 5-39, some strong performances still have them ready to perform in finals.
Aiden Basile and Josh Mazzucco were their side’s best players, securing both boys’ singles matches.
Basile had the Cats off to a steady start by winning a tie-breaker against Tom Ferguson to secure a challenging set.
Pink fought back in the girls’ singles as Emily Turcato and Emily Humphrey got the job done before also overcoming their opposition in the doubles.
Shepparton Lawn Pink also has earned a spot in Saturday’s semi-finals with a third place finish.
Shepparton Lawn Purple will storm into the finals off the back of a 7-47 to 1-27 thrashing of Shepparton Lawn Red.
While Elena Wall stood tall for Red, the experience of Joeli Anderson, Luke Turcato and Will Rohde put Purple well in front from the outset.
Shepparton Lawn Blue and Mooroopna Cats Blue produced some impressive performances in both sides’ final matches of the season.
With Blue the unlucky side to miss out on finals, it showed the damage it could have done should it have finished in the top four with an 8-48 to 0-23 win.
Olivia Lear and Molly Tancred produced scintillating performances in girls competition, while Jye Crilly, Jack Nicholson and Cooper Marshall ground out some tight sets.
McEwen Reserve Green and Tatura Lawn White finished next to each other on the singles division two yellow ladder and for good reason.
On Saturday the two teams played out a draw, finishing with a scoreline of 3-29 each.
Ash Dempster, Ayden Barrett and Sophie Paterson were blistering for McEwen Reserve and Liam Campbell, Caiden Phillips and Itiyah Saddlier shone for Tatura.
