It’s not quite perfect, but Purple reigns against feisty Pink

December 12, 2017

Shepparton Lawn Purple did not let some serious competition from Shepparton Lawn Pink come between a win.

Intense action took place in the boys’ singles as Purples’ Will Rohde battled Tom Ferguson.

Rohde just edged past Ferguson in a tiebreaker as Purples teammate Dan Dalton achieved the same result against Tanner Madigan.

With Ella Rohde and Joeli Anderson also winning their girls’ singles events, the doubles were where Pink stood up.

In the girls’ event Jaslyn Ferguson and Emily Humphrey conquered Ella Rohde and Anderson, as Jaslyn Ferguson teamed up with Tom Ferguson for a mixed doubles victory.

But as Luke Turcato and Anderson shored up the second mixed doubles encounter, Purple took the match 6-43 to 2-31.

Mooroopna Cats Blue blitzed Shepparton Lawn Red 7-45 to 1-22, with Aiden Basile and Olivia Lear among those in superb form.

The pair won its mixed doubles set, while Jye Crilly and Molly Tancred chimed in to help the Cats record a dominant win.

Kialla Park continues to be the team to beat, overcoming Shepparton Lawn Blue 6-41 to 2-24 as it only continues to strengthen its hold on the top of the table.

But the match of the entire competition was played out in division two doubles where Katandra West drew with Kialla Park Purple, 3-22.

Chelsea Harry, Chelsea Hancock, Cooper Howels and Marnie Owen were superb for Katandra, but the might of Kialla Park’s Jim Joseph, Elise O’Keefe, Lee McCrindle and Arielle Laws meant the right result was achieved.
