Benalla Racing Club is gearing up for its fifth and final race day of the year on Saturday afternoon.
The LJ Hooker Twilight Christmas Races start at 1.30pm and there will be something for everyone.
Benalla Racing Club chief executive Cameron Symes said the race day would not just be targeted to adults, but it would be a family-inclusive environment.
‘‘When the gates open at 1.30, we’ll have a water slide and free bouncy castle set up especially for the kids, who will also be able to come in for free. There is no entry fee for anyone under 16,’’ he said.
Mr Symes said the fun on Saturday would go until about 8.30pm when band Swipe Right will finish.
‘‘The actual races start at 3.30, with the last one at 7.30. Then the band will play after that,’’ Mr Symes said.
‘‘We’re expecting a couple thousand people through the gates.’’
Mr Symes said he looked forward to seeing people enjoying themselves on the final day out of the year at the races.
Next year’s first Benalla meeting is scheduled for January 24.
It will also be a twilight race day and will be mid-week.
Not only have entry fees been slashed, but a free bus will be running from locations around Benalla, to and from the races.
