Pine Lodge has chased down a huge total to defeat Shepparton United in its Cricket Shepparton under-14 B-grade match on Saturday.

Responding to United’s score of 8-156, the Lodgers got the victory by posting 177 thanks to knocks from James Nugent, Tanner Webber and Thomas Phillips.

Old Students picked up a vital outright victory in their game against Kyabram, smashing their way to 2-297 before skittling the Redbacks for 56 in their first innings as James Washington (4-6) and Edmon Barolli (3-4) cleaned up with the ball.

Kyabram was out again in its second innings for 34 as Mitchell Higgins and Blake Gawne both finished with figures of 2-2.

Tatura’s score of 149 was enough to get past Northerners as the Jets were all-out for 117.

Talon Wilson played a classy hand with 44 for Northerners, while Jai Bailey, Patrick Forster and Jacob Phillingham claimed two wickets each for Tatura.

Just one game was completed in under-14 A-grade, with Notre Dame-St Brendan’s’ score of 230 proving too much for Karramomus Gold.

The Bloods clawed their way to 123 thanks to Rohan Byrne (22) and Wyatt Scott (21), while Tigers pair William Browne (3-6) and Haris Hassan (3-7) starred with the ball.
