Shepparton Junior Tennis Association action continues to grace the courts of the region every Saturday morning, with competition fierce across every grade.
In the singles division one section, Shepparton Lawn Orange fell across the line in a thrilling derby against Shepparton Lawn Red.
Orange’s James Dainton proved the star of the contest by winning all three of his sets in the 3-29 to 3-27 victory.
Teammates Jack Henry and Blake Serra both lost their individual ties against their Blue opponents, but combined well with Dainton in the doubles component of the clash.
In the C/D-grade Shepparton Lawn Blue and Shepparton Lawn Orange also faced off for supremacy, with the former taking a 10-62 to 1-22 overall win.
Hannah Burke found the only success for Orange with a 6-2 set win, while Sam Bicknell and Kade Madigan were dominant across the match.
There was also an exciting clash in the youngest division, with the 10-and-under clash between Shepparton North and Katandra West decided by just four games.
North’s Cindy Senaratne, Darcy Jackson, Chloe Pettigrew, Justin Hunter and Josh Roger compiled a total of 3-30 to just oust West’s combinations of Emily Harry, Alana Owen, Alexandra Smith, Addison Wardle and Isabelle Maples (3-26).
