English import Tom Dinnis and three of his Tatura teammates have secured a spot in the Northern Rivers under-21 team, along with two other Haisman Shield players from other clubs.

The Northern Rivers under-21 team has been announced, with some of the region’s youngest stars set to take on a Mallee Murray representative side on Sunday.

Cricket Shepparton exports make up half of the 12 players selected, while Ben Tarran is the sole representative of the Seymour District Cricket Association.

Tatura’s youth is highlighted by the inclusion of four of its Haisman Shield players in the team, Tom Dinnis, Jess Petherick, Caiden Pratt and Michael Archer, while Shepparton United’s Sam Nash and Euroa’s Linton Colclough will also make the trip to Koondrook.

English import Dinnis has struck 116 runs at an average of 29 as a lower-order enforcer for his new side, while also taking seven wickets at 21.9 with the white ball.

Petherick has snared three wickets from 28 overs bowled in five matches, while Archer has also cracked the 100-run mark (103) and claimed two wickets this season.

Pratt put in his grittiest performance of the campaign at the weekend with 22 from 81 deliveries at the top of the order against Central Park-St Brendan’s.

Nash has also played all five games for United’s top team, taking three wickets in his last 13 overs and hitting 26 runs in the tail at an average of 8.67.

Meanwhile, Colclough is averaging 22.25 runs for Euroa’s top side (B-grade) and Tarran has hit 67 runs and taken seven wickets at an average of just nine for the Yea Tigers in their A-grade outfit.
