Lancaster has called on the services of club legend Corey Carver to coach next season.
Carver, who won five club best-and-fairests across 280 games and played in a premiership with the Wombats, takes over from Nick Bertoli.
Bertoli coached Lancaster for the past three seasons, including a year as co-coach with Russell Lee in 2015, but decided to step down after the Wombats’ exit from the finals in the first week last season.
Carver last played football in 2011 when he coached the reserves team to a premiership — the same year the senior group won its last flag.
Lancaster is going with the same coaches in the reserves (Fred Andronaco) and the under-18s (Michael Mott) again next year.
Most Kyabram District Football League clubs have finalised their coaching appointments for next year, with Stanhope appointing Rob Montgomery and Troy Auld to replace Brenton Gray.
Don Stirling (Avenel), Brent Ralph (Ardmona), Shannon Tucker (Girgarre) and James Milne (Murchison-Toolamba) are among coaches to be confirmed to be going around again next season, while Kevin O’Donoghue has been appointed at Tallygaroopna.
