Maidens feature on the track at Shepparton greyhounds

Maiden greyhounds will be off and racing at the Shepparton meeting on Monday.

It will be an interesting night’s racing on Monday at Shepparton greyhounds, with most of the meeting being maiden greyhounds.

These meetings always produce some nice youngsters, who go onto bigger and better things.

Throughout the meeting there is some extremely well-bred youngsters.

One interesting runner is the locally-bred Nebi, which appears in the final race, and this pup is by former excitement machine Neb and is owned and trained by the same connections.

If this girl has some of her father’s speed then it may just be a matter of how far.

Local identity John ‘Docka’ Donaldson has a terrific chance with Alabama Lane in the second race on the card.

This greyhound has drawn poorly in box four, but was desperately unlucky last Monday and, with an ounce of luck, could be another winner for this popular trainer.

Race four sees the return of Lucas The Great for Eddie Hamilton of Invergordon.

This chaser has shown some promising signs and Hamilton can certainly prepare a greyhound as evident with his training of top chaser Are You. This greyhound will be well prepared and has already shown to be more than capable.

Danial Pell will be hoping for a change of fortune for his greyhound Deadline.

Coming out of the pink box, this chaser looked very exciting when winning at his only start here and, from a favourable draw, looks a great chance to bounce back to the winner’s list.
