Numurkah Golf Club’s biggest weekend of the year kicks off tomorrow.
The club will host its annual tournament from Thursday to Sunday, with close to 250 golfers expected to take to the country course.
‘‘This is the big one,’’ match committee member David Ludington said.
‘‘Overall with all the entries we should get 200 to 250, which is pretty good for a small club.’’
Tomorrow, the women’s four-ball action will heat up the course, followed by men’s four-ball and the women’s open championship on Friday, mixed yankee Saturday and the men’s open championship on Sunday.
Players from across the Goulburn Valley will hit the course, which Ludington said was in great shape.
‘‘We’ll have quite a few from the Goulburn Valley, we all help each other out with tournaments like this,’’ he said.
‘‘The course is in absolutely top-notch condition, so I’m sure everyone will have a great time.’’
There is no restriction on entries for any of the days and prospective players are encouraged to phone the clubhouse on 58623445.
‘‘We like to get a few late entries usually, basically people can enter right up to the start of each day,’’ Ludington said.
‘‘So if anyone wakes up on Saturday or Sunday morning and wants a hit just ring us up and we’ll accommodate them.
‘‘It’s always a good, fun event. It will be a good golfing tournament, but also good for the social side as well.’’
