Mooroopna export Clayton Oliver continues to reap the rewards.
The Melbourne midfielder was named in the centre for the AFL’s under-22 team, unveiled on Tuesday night.
Oliver had an outstanding season for the Demons, making his name as one of the AFL’s top midfielders in just his second year at the elite level.
The Echuca-bred Cats talent was controversially left out of the All-Australian squad, but picked up the AFL Coaches Association’s best young player award.
Oliver was not the only Goulburn Valley ace to be named in the under-22 team, with Port Adelaide’s Echuca gun Ollie Wines getting a run on the interchange.
Wines’ Power team was sensationally knocked out of the finals last Saturday night, with West Coast’s Luke Shuey kicking a goal after the siren in extra time to give the Eagles a famous win.
