Mooroopna and Shepparton United will go head-to-head in the under-16 final on Sunday.

Mooroopna and Shepparton United Blue will battle it out for the under-16 premiership this Sunday.

The teams won their respective preliminary finals last Sunday to qualify for the Shepparton District Junior Football League decider at Deakin Reserve.

Shepparton United Blue booked its spot in the early game, crushing Kyabram Red by 59 points in a dominant display from the outset.

The margin could have been greater if it were not for some inaccurate kicking at goal, with the Demons finishing up on 12.15 (87) to 4.4 (28).

Blake Fothergill, Wil Norman (five goals), Kade Chalcraft, Mitchell Roche, Sheldon Bogdan and Alou Kuol were at the forefront of the action for the Demons.

The Bombers had solid contributions from Jayden Fitzgerald, Cooper Gentle, Charlie Lloyd, Cody Harrison, Curtis Walsh and Noah Ryan.

Meanwhile, minor premier Mooroopna had to fight harder to seal its spot, holding off Shepparton United Red by 22 points.

The Cats got on top early with a five-goal-to-one first term, but the Demons would not go away, with the final score being 7.8 (50) to 4.4 (28).

Fraser McElhinney, Lochlan O’Brien, James Nethersole, Aidan Basile and Domenic Gugliotti led by example for the Cats, as did Matthew Poppa, Jayden Milton, Bailey Pearson, Harry Smith and Stephan Pigatto for United.
