An early guilty plea for striking has resulted in Mansfield's Jacob Howes granted permission to play on Saturday.

Mansfield’s Jacob Howes will be free to play in the Eagles’ final round trip to Echuca.

Howes was reported and sent off for striking Benalla’s Nick Wood in the Eagles’ thrilling three-point win against the Saints at Benalla Showgrounds on Saturday.

The offence was a one-match base penalty, but a reprimand was offered for an early guilty plea, which Mansfield accepted.

Mansfield could end the season in seventh on the ladder and overtake the Murray Bombers if the Eagles have a big win at Echuca.

In the Kyabram District Football League, there were three reports to come out of the reserves game between Nagambie and Ardmona on Saturday.

Cats player Aaron McKay accepted a one-week penalty for attempting to strike the Lakers’ Mitch Sanderson.

The roles were reversed, with Sanderson copping a one-week ban for the same offence against McKay.

Ardmona’s Ben Wilson will head to the tribunal tonight for using abusive language at or toward an umpire and was reported by two umpires.

The Shepparton District Junior Football League had one report, with a Shepparton Notre Gold player listed for engaging in rough conduct against a Shepparton United Red player.
