Nagambie flexed its muscles in the Kyabram District Netball League after comprehensively defeating Tallygaroopna on Saturday.

In a battle between second and third, the Lakers thwarted the Redlegs high-scoring attack to win 50-38.

The Lakers put on a clinic in front their home fans and have established a four-point gap between themselves and Saturday’s rival with two games to go.

The Redlegs had won 11 straight games before Saturday, but the relentless Lakers brought that undone.

Ladder leader and reigning premier Avenel has won four games on the trot after scraping past Violet Town.

The Swans were made to work for the four points at home, prevailing 44-40.

With a finals spot to play for, the Towners need results to fall in their favour if they are to feature in September.

Violet Town needs to win its final two games and hope Murchison-Toolamba slips up.

However, the Grasshoppers are in fine form after a 15-goal victory against Ardmona.

Alice Cunningham’s side has won three of its past four games and she will be hoping to make it two on the trot when it meets Longwood next week.

The Cats are winless in the past six weeks.

Stanhope proved too strong for Merrigum, 46-25, for its 10th win in 11 games.

Lancaster kept its slim finals chances alive after defeating Longwood 42-30 at home.
