Two players sent who were sent to the sin bin on Saturday have escaped sanctions after reports against them were filled out incorrectly.

Bungled reports by Picola District Football Netball League umpires means two players will escape any sanctions, despite being shown red cards on Saturday.

Katamatite’s Nick Clurey and Katandra’s Nathan Bovalino are thanking their lucky stars after reports against them were thrown out.

Clurey and Bovalino were sent to the bench for the remainder of a fiery game at Katandra Recreation Reserve after being involved in incidents during the second half.

League operations manager Shane Railton said the reports were filled out incorrectly, with the offended players listed as ‘‘unknown’’ when the paperwork was submitted to the league.

‘‘It’s disappointing we’ve got a report that’s listed as an unknown player, but at the same time there would have been a bit going on, so you can sympathise with the umpires in a situation like that,’’ Railton said.

‘‘If the clubs feel the incidents were severe enough, there is the option to request an investigation and they’ve got until Friday to do that.’’
