League leading goal-kicker Osborne to fight striking charge

Rushworth star Rob Osborne will face the tribunal on July 26 in relation to a striking charge.

Kyabram District Football League leading goal-kicker Rob Osborne will face the tribunal to contest a striking charge.

The Rushworth spearhead, who has kicked 65 goals for the season, was offered a two-week penalty after two umpires reported him for striking Tallygaroopna’s Adam Brassil in the game at Ironbark Stadium on Saturday.

Osborne will head to tribunal on July 26 with the Tigers not playing this week due to being fixtured against Ardmona, which is without a senior team.

Brassil was also offered a two-week ban for striking Osborne, which he accepted yesterday.

Murchison-Toolamba’s Jack Sanderson has accepted a one-week ban after being reported for tripping Stanhope’s Dylan Moncur in the Grasshoppers’ memorable victory against the Lions on Saturday.

In the under-18s, an Undera player has accepted a one-week penalty for using abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language.

The Murray Football League had two charges laid on the weekend.

Deniliquin’s Robert Resuggan accepted a set two-week penalty for striking Finley’s Cam Robertson, while Mitch Eade (Moama) will miss one match after also accepting a set ban for striking Echuca United player Luke Sanderson.
