Dogs make it five wins

There was plenty of action in the Shepparton District Junior Football League matches at the weekend.

Tatura has five wins on the board in the Shepparton District Junior Football League after accounting for Shepparton Notre Maroon on Sunday.

The Bulldogs took out the under-14 clash 10.8 (68) to 7.9 (51).

Tatura is equal second on the ladder with Shepparton Swans and Shepparton Notre Gold.

Mooroopna White kept its one-game advantage at the top of the ladder with a 38-point win against Shepparton United Red.

The Cats proved too strong 11.12 (78) to 5.10 (40).

Shepp Notre Gold thumped winless Mooroopna Blue by 127 points, 19.20 (134) to 1.1 (7).

In the final game, Shepparton Swans accounted for Shepparton United Blue by 23 points.

In the Youth Girls competition, Northern Angels scored a thrilling six-point win against Echuca to remain in the hunt for a finals spot.

The Angels’ 8.1 (49) to 6.7 (43) result was their third win of the season, with the Murray Bombers also having three victories this campaign.

At Finley, the Cats were too good for Shepparton United winning 7.9 (51) to 0.1 (1).

Best players and goal-kickers were unavailable for all games.
