Old Students win Haisman Shield premiership

March 19, 2017

Old Students have won their first Haisman Shield premiership in 40 years, defeating Katandra by 60 runs today.

The Students made 212, batting first, led by an inspirational 99 from star veteran Gino Saracino.

Katandra captain Jed Wright fought gallantly for his team, with 65 and four wickets.

But a powerful bowling display from Students’ spearhead Andrew Ireland saw the Eagles all out for 152.

Ireland's haul of 6-35 saw him awarded the Greg Luscombe Medal for man of the match.
