The magic of the Football Federation Australia Cup begins tonight for Tatura, while Shepparton South will have to wait a few more sleeps.

Tatura will play Cobram Roar at McEwen Reserve, with the match scheduled to kick off at 7pm.

Meanwhile, South will have a home ground advantage as it hosts Wangaratta City at the same venue on Sunday at 2pm.

Tatura will be familiar with its opponents, despite Roar leaving the Goulburn North East competition to compete in Albury Wodonga Football Association at the end of 2015.

Before the qualifying draw was announced, Tatura had already been scheduled to play Cobram in a pre-season friendly last week, with Roar winning 3-2.

Both sides were understrength during the second half, but it would have been a great opportunity for the respective coaches to cast an eye on their opponents.

The qualifying round will be the first competitive fixture for both clubs since the merger between the defunct Goulburn North East and the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League.

South’s clash with City will be played during a Goulburn Valley Suns gala weekend at McEwen Reserve.

It is anticipated that more than 21 soccer games will be played tomorrow as the juniors host Pascoe Vale and Murray United soccer clubs.
