With a lot of the focus surrounding the senior side, the Goulburn Valley Suns’ under-20s will be looking to make an impact this season.

The Suns has an abundance of talent throughout their junior squads and the likes of Declan Maiorano, Cooper Gosstray and Rocco Papalia will aim to lead the way.

The Suns finished last season in fifth position, but if the aforementioned players could raise their standards again, who knows what is possible.

Current coach Fred Zito will be looking to use his side’s talent going forward with the likes of Gosstray and Ramah Tayah leading the line.

Gosstray was an ever-present figure for the Suns last season; the prolific striker managed to score 16 goals during a breakout campaign, finishing second highest in the league.

Meanwhile, former Shepparton Soccer Club attacker Ramah Tayah, who could play as a striker and winger, posed a threat for opposition defenders with his raw talent and pace.

Unfortunately for the Suns, first choice keeper Maiorano will only be available for round one, before he departs for a host of trials with United Kingdom and Europe-based clubs next week.

The under-20s draw was similar to that of the senior side, their season kicking off tonight at 5pm, before they travel to Melbourne to face Nunawading.

In an chance to test themselves against Victoria’s elite youngsters, the Suns will host A-League club Melbourne City at McEwen Reserve on April 8, before playing Dandenong City on August 26.
