While not much stops bowlers across the Goulburn Valley, extreme heat resulted in midweek pennant competition being called off yesterday.
The heat rule had matches cancelled in the morning when yesterday’s temperature was forecast to reach 39°C.
Round 13 matches were meant to mark the return of bowls after the Christmas and new year break, but midweek pennant will return on Tuesday.
It is the third time midweek pennant has been cancelled this season, with players unable to take to the greens in round two and round eight.
The weather is forecast to be a slightly cooler 32°C on Tuesday, allowing games to go ahead.
Shepparton Park is sitting on top of the table in the Edna Harling Shield, 18 points ahead of Kyabram.
