If you are looking to improve your fitness this year, Challenge Shepparton could be for you.
Early-bird entries are being taken for this year’s triathlon event at Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake.
Registration is open for the November 12 event until April 30, or until the offer runs.
Challenge Shepparton is one of triathlon’s most regarded participant events, as it provides a flat and fast course creating the perfect conditions for fitness enthusiasts to achieve their personal best results.
The world-class triathlon course capitalises on Shepparton’s revered lake precinct and surrounding bushland to encourage entries from competitor’s of all ages and abilities.
The 113km long-course event involved a 1.9km swim in the lake, a 90km ride and a 21.1km run along the Goulburn River and surrounding areas.
Dan Wilson was the winner of the men’s Challenge event last year, while Ellie Salthouse dominated the women’s race.
This year’s event will be the only triathlon in Australia that will include registration (refund) insurance for individual entrants.
This insurance covers against injury, illness, loss of employment, transport accidents plus many other incidents. ‘‘Our competitors good health is paramount and providing them with the peace of mind that they wont be out of pocket in the event they experience an unfortunate incident during training , provides a valuable point of difference compared to other triathlon events,’’ Challenge Shepparton event manager Susie Filleti said.
