The Jason Thompson-trained Aston Selena should finish well at Shepparton greyhounds on Monday.

The Jason Thompson-trained Aston Selena looks a star in the making and should finish well at Shepparton greyhounds on Monday.

The DPR Insurance Brokers final is the second event on the card and Aston Selena looks good after a fantastic debut win last week in a fast 25.38, on a track that was certainly rain affected.

Promising chaser Arden Emgrand, trained by young Riana Groom, has been running in some tough fields having just competed in the silver chief series in Melbourne and back to this grade he should bounce back to the form that produced consecutive wins here.

CKH Painting Veterans is race six, with Gotta Get Back jumping from the red box. This chaser has won two of his last three starts and should prove to be the testing material. Main dangers appear to be Midnight Flynn and Tiggerlong Await, both not quite at their best but will appreciate the veterans race.

Aston Dee Bee looks a future star, a winner of six of his nine starts and, with some exceptional times, this greyhound looks hard to stop after having one previous start here for an emphatic nine lengths victory.

The main challenger is One Plus Two for Stanhope’s Adele Powell and she has the greyhound going well leading into the race.

Racing starts at 7pm, with the last at 10.57pm.
